The AXA Equitable Center serves as the headquarters of Equitable Life Insurance. The facade of the building features a grid of vertical reddish brown granite cladding and horizontal bands of white marble. Arched windows punctuate the top of the tower on the east and west sides, behind which a large boardroom is located. The ground floor includes an art gallery with free admission to the public, exemplifying the company’s commitment to cultural endeavors. The building also features a six story atrium showcasing an impressive mural by Roy Lichtenstein.
Tenants of the AXA Equitable Center include Morgan Stanley Smith Barney; Wilke, Farr & Gallagher; and Sidley Austin Brown & Wood. Amenities include an auditorium space, fitness center with swimming pool, concierge and a garage. Bobby Flay’s Bar American and the critically acclaimed Le Bernardin restaurants are located on the ground floor. The building connects underground to the Rockefeller Center concourse.
